I’m Highly Motivated for the Week

8 March 2025 by Paulina Bonsu Donkoh

I’m highly motivated for the week!

This is one of the moments where you realize you want to succeed so badly that there’s no time to feel bad about yourself.

It is one of those moments where you realize that you can’t be who you want to be tomorrow if you’re still, today, who you were yesterday.

Does that make sense to you? It does to me because I’m highly motivated for the week.

My mind is psyched for the future. My body is now dancing to the rhythms of success tunes. One step, two steps, one and two steps, three steps; yeah, just like that, I’m getting better. I’m reaching for the sky and not settling for less. I, too, must get there.

I should be able to feel good that I made it when my future becomes my present.

Are successful People Better than Me?

Come to think of it: I see successful people- like Oprah Winfrey, Priscilla Shirer, Sarah Jakes Robert, Jean Naana Opoku Agyemang, Samira Bawumia, and Naa Ashorkor- and I ask if they are better than me. What makes them stand out as a person? Were they created better than I was? Maybe they are made up of a special atom called success. You think? I don’t believe it.

  • They are just individuals who have fought hard for their success.
  • They are people who have mastered the willpower to silence the ‘I can’t do it’ voice in their heads.
  • They have devoted themselves to continuous learning of new things to set them apart.
  • They have devoted themselves to learning things that can widen their creativity.
  • Carol S. Dweck, an American psychologist stated that “the hallmark of successful people is that they are always stretching themselves to learn new things.”
  • Successful people are always highly motivated to learn new things that can elevate themselves.

Realistically, “You don’t know what your abilities are until you make a full commitment to developing them.” – Carol S. Dweck

Is it easy to stay highly motivated and succeed?

I have failed countless times on my quest to push myself harder. Many times, I’ve stayed consistent with my goals for three months straight and have given up because I wasn’t seeing any results. But the good thing is that no matter how many times I gave in to self-doubt and self-denial, I still picked myself up again.

There was one time I decided that by hook or crook, I was going to strike one goal off my list of goals. It wasn’t easy but I did it. You know what? It felt so good. I did it! I made! Once I realized that my consistency and hard work paid off, I channeled the same energy into completing the remaining of my goals.

This year, I made a list containing ten goals to complete. Executing them hasn’t been easy at all. Taking care of a five-month-old baby is demanding. If you don’t take care, you will lose yourself while focusing on raising a healthy child (Don’t get me wrong, I love my baby boy so much). But I’m not going to let that deter me from achieving them. One step at a time. I’m taking baby steps.

Amidst everything, It just struck me hard that I will sacrifice all body pleasure- sleep and any form of comfort- to work on creating the better me. That’s why I’m highly motivated for the week. It’s not going to be easy to stay this motivated for long.

There will be days I’ll feel like giving up. But that’s when I should hang in there and press harder.

What can I do?

Learn: Knowledge acquisition is important for self-growth. You can’t produce what you don’t know. Learn about ways you can improve yourself. Read books and learn from people who have made it happen. Learn from people you admire to be like.

Acquire the skill: After acquiring knowledge, you need to apply wisdom. Get practical. Get hands-on experience. Partake in workshops and get the necessary skills to advance your career.

Role Play: Who do you want to be? Start acting like one. Research what those you want to be like do. Find out what they did to get there, and start living like one.

In the end?

I’m highly motivated for the week. Are you too? I’m putting on my warrior’s armor, waging war into the future. Breaking every wall that holds me down. Today be today! I will succeed. This post is for you just as much as it is for me. I’m recruiting you into the highly motivated people for the week. Let’s do this together.

Let me know how motivated you are now. Share your thought in the comment section.
