Songs are spirits. They light up the soul
By the way, how is your week going?
Anything you would like to share?
My week started quite lovely. Everything seemed to be in order. Just a typical Monday pressure, nothing serious. But on Tuesday I thought- you know I think a lot. I believe I spend a lot of time in my head but thank God he controls my thoughts– about life and everything happening in the world now.
I thought about my past and where my life was headed, then a song dropped in my spirit.
Song by Travis Greene
‘Made a way’ by Travis Greene.
“Standing here not knowing how we’ll get through this test
But holding onto faith you know best
Nothing can catch you by surprise
You’ve got this figured out and you’re watching us now

But when it looks as if we can’t win
You wrap us in your arm and step in
And everything we need you supply
You got this in control
And now we know that
You made a way
When our backs were against the wall
And it looked as if it was over
You made a way
And we’re standing here
Only because you made a way
You made a way”
Everything about my life aligned with this song, ‘God made a way.’ And it was just beautiful. This song helped me appreciate all my struggles, my wins, and my losses. It helped me see the way that God has paved for me. I’m indeed standing here only because God made a way. God is good.
Song by William McDowell
Then as I was going through my husband’s playlist on YouTube the next song played, and it was ‘withholding nothing’ by William McDowell

“surrender all to you
Everything I give to you
Withholding nothing
Withholding nothing”
There is freedom, peace of mind, and contentment in knowing that you can’t really do much with your human strength and you have to just let everything go for God to be in control. You just let go of the steering wheel and let God control it. He will take you to the right destination.
The next song encouraged me for the rest of the week;
Song by Kofi Owusu Peprah
M’atwen Awurade Anim, originally by Rev George Owusu Mensah, and let’s just say Kofi Owusu Peprah did marvelous with his version.

My God will glorify me and won’t put me to shame. He’s my strength and my pillar. As long as I rest in him, he will never fail me. I will speak the name of God and lift him up for the whole world to know that he is Lord. He’s the lord over my life, my present, my future, my family, my marriage, and my business. God is good! He’s Lord of Lords!
Be blessed today. I hope these songs also set your mood up for the rest of your week.
